We find the Fountain of San Ramón hidden in the Allo`s chestnut grove. It is a fresh water spring carved in granite with two spouts presided over by the figure of the saint. This baroque style fountain was ordered to be built by Gómes de Riobóo Seixas y Vilardefrancos in the 17th century, at the same time that the Torre Nueba was erected. The enclave was designed for resting and to slowly enjoy the sounds of the water and forest, evidenced by the two large benches that are placed on both sides of the fountain’s entrance. An idyllic place to stop during our visit to the Torres do Allo.
